It's Doomsday Time Again -- May 17 -18, 2025
Help us spread literacy with the language of Poe
From a basement in 2022, Doomsday is now a Baltimore tradition, supporting our mission to produce Poe-themed live radio dramas, stage plays, and other arts events in Baltimore and beyond.
Last year, dozens of actors, authors, and community leaders gathered at Baltimore's Carroll Mansion for The National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre's 24-hour marathon reading of Poe's best-loved poems and stories, with participants from the UK, Italy, and Brazil!
This year we're at Poe’s Magic Theatre at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, with national participants in Maryland, Tennessee, and Ohio, and across the globe in Brazil, Italy, England and Scotland -- and the list keeps growing.
Now more than ever, your donation matters. Every dollar contributes to our programs:
-
Radio drama adaptations of Poe's stories performed live at Baltimore's Enoch Pratt Free Library
-
Poe Theatre's radio dramas airing LIVE on WYPR Sunday Night Radio Theater
-
Poe Theatre and local schools teaming up on college and adult education programs
-
A live stage production of "A Christmas Carol for Edgar Allan Poe" at the holiday season in Baltimore, December 2025
-
And much more!
